India breaks silence on rising military tensions between China and Taiwan
India reacted to the Taiwan crisis on Friday, saying it is concerned over the developments and urged for avoiding unilateral action to change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait amid the rising military tensions between China and Taiwan.
Addressing a media briefing, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, the country pitched for exercising restraint.
He further underlined the need for efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.
“Like many other countries, India too is concerned at recent developments,” Bagchi said.
“We urge the exercise of restraint, avoidance of unilateral actions to change status quo, de-escalation of tensions and efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region,” he added.
